    This is a very small restaurant in a dingy strip mall. I ordered the shrimp pad thai and it had no flavor. I would not hurry back to this restaurant.

    Seemed like a busy "hole in the wall" Thai restaurant. Busy enough for them to say it would take our three Togo items 15 minutes. When in fact it was over 35 minutes until we received our food. They just kept saying "a few more minutes". The portions were small and expensive for the price 3 items was over $30! The overweight lady who took our order was condescending and short with those who asked questions and overall it was a less than satisfying experience.

    I always luck out with a secret, amazing Thai restaurant not far from home. Very pleasantly surprised! The pad Thai passes the test, green duck curry and sea food scallops & more out of this world. Also all the soups taste like your Thai grandma made them with love to perfection. I'll definitely be back.

    For a small place in a strip mall, not bad! Ambiance is nicer than a lot of Asian restaurants and the food is good. Friendly and attentive servers. Spring rolls are really good.

    About once a month I find myself in this part of town around lunch time and this is my go to spot. All of their lunch items come with soup, salad and appetizer . I am not very well versed in Thai cuisine... I have only tried the pad Thai and spicy chicken dish ,but both are delicious . They make them to my liking as I can not handle too much spice. The vegetables are crisp and delicious and very tasty . I leave her stuffed every time and even take home enough for dinner.

    84 Thai Food is conveniently placed near the Hampton Inns hotel- I was craving a little bit of Thai food. The place was nearly empty when I went, and the staff was very attentive. I had a soup and the Pad Thai- soup was good although was a small portion, while the Pad Thai was very one-dimensional- I've definitely had better. Overall, I had a decent time but thought it was overpriced for the quality.

    I ordered takeout from here, the massaman curry with chicken. The portion size was reasonable for the price, but the taste of the curry was far too sweet. Not really a deal breaker, but not that enjoyable either. I consider myself a Thai food lover and have had massaman curry a ton of times from lots of different places in Florida, Chicago, etc. This was meh, but I would probably be back just to try the pad thai which another reviewer referred to as "the best ever".

    84 Thai serves to be a decent pick up place. (Although the shopping plaza it's in is CRAZY) The food is below average for a Thai place in my opinion, but they actually make it up with great pick up times and availability. What I mean by that is, if they say it'll be ready by 5:30 it will be there at 5:30. This is becoming an increasingly hard thing to come by. Like I said food is below par, but I had only purchased the Pad Thai, so I can't speak for the other dishes.

    Tried a couple of the curries and they were excellent. Friendly and efficient service although the seats in the booths sag a little! Doesn't look anything from outside but food is good. Would recommend.

    This place is a gem and a great value. The owner is super sweet. At lunch all entrees come with unlimited salad and the appetizer of the day, which is always delicious (especially the eggplant and their spring rolls). Everything's good here! I'm a fan of the spicy chicken and duck basil. It's a quaint little restaurant with excellent service.

    This review is only for take-out Deluxe Pad Thai. Simple and perfect. Had huge shrimp mixed in with chicken. Great flavor with subtle sweetness. Not dry, not wet just right. The atmosphere inside was surprisingly nice and well put together. Had a funky Bangkok feel. No never been to Bangkok, but I do have a wild imagination. Don't worry about the sketchy plaza. The security guards are only for show. Seriously its fine. Really. Just walk fast. No really it's fine. Give them a shot.

    For me, this place was a real find. I enjoy cruising and this place is in easy walking distance of two hotels (Holiday Inn Express, Best Western) which shuttle to both the airport and the cruise port. I admit that the strip mall location is not promising, but we've had good experiences with some previous strip mall family-run Asian places, and we felt like something more than a burger at a bar or fast food place, the other nearby options. In the end, it served some of the best Thai food we've had. We've visited a lot of Thai restaurants over the years, but I don't want to claim any expertise on Thai cuisine. That said, I think this place is definitely worth a try if you are in the area. We certainly expect to go back ourselves the next time we cruise out of FLL.

    My friend Ricky and I ate at the "84 Thai Food" in Fort Lauderdale, FL on 3/30/2011. It was the first time there for either of us. We tried it because it was near our hotel and we could walk to it. The cost was $24.60 with tax and tip. We had good food and good service.

    We ate here because it was recommended by the manager at the Hampton Inn nearby, and is one of the very few sit down restaurants nearby that was not fast food....from what we were told. It is in a strip mall, but the food was good. It was almost like the thai restaurants near where I live. This place is a bit more expensive. The service was good and so was the food. The place looked clean too. The exterior is a little sketchy at night in the strip mall. If you are in town near this restaurant and headed to your cruise the next night, I would recommend eating here...IT'S GOOD!!

    I am Thai and been in Ft laud not long ago. So I've been trying out many places. This place isn't real Thai. None of the workers are Thai. The food is terrible. Curry is too rich of coconut milk. Spicy beef basil is too sweet like you are eating desert. Terrible food ever!

    This simple place serves up pretty authentic and good Thai food for a reasonable price. My favorite trio is Tom Yam Goong soup and Nam Sod (minced chicken with some nice heat to it) and then a signature duck with basil for mains. The place is in a really drab strip mall and the service can be rather slow, so you sure don't come here for the general ambiance, but it's hard to find good genuine Thai so I reckon it is still worth it. I've also read about some incident where a waiter helped a woman that was being carjacked in the parking lot and got fired as a result of it. Sounds pretty bad, but that was before my time here in Ft L so I'll give them the benefit of a doubt.

    i have eaten ALOT of thai in my time - its probably my favorite foreign food my mom kept raving about this place so i met her here tonite after work NOT impressed i ordered the red curry w/ chicken - medium - a pretty basic thai dish ZERO flavor - and not even mild - it was like pure coconut milk with the tiniest faintest hint of red curry - about 2 pieces of zuchini and 2 pieces of red pepper - RIDICULOUS overpriced at $15.95 for a VERY SMALL and VERY UNTASTY portion i HIGHLY do NOT recommend spend your money elsewhere the only good thing i can say is the place was clean and the staff friendly and pleasant - a rarity here in south florida

    I was in Ft. Lauderdale for a week visiting my husband who works on Marina Mile, and he took me to this gem. Thai is my favorite food, and this is probably the best thai I have ever had. We subsequently ate there 3 times that week, it was so good. We asked the server Reggie what he recommended, and he said definitely the crispy duck with panang curry. It was EXCEPTIONAL. The next visit he pointed us to the basil sauce, with pork. Also incredible. So flavorful, and Reggie brings us extra spices on the side so we can season to our liking. I wish I could take 84 Thai with me back to MIchigan!

    We were staying at a hotel across the street, and we were hungry! Decided to cross the road to check out the shopping plaza across the way. Saw 84 Thai Food and decided to give it a try. Walked in for a late lunch. The place is small with several booths and a few tables. Was greeted and seated right away. Wifey ordered the Duck Basil. She said it was alright. Had a lot of vegetables and tasted fine. Not very memorable, though. ( 3 stars ) I had the Chicken Pad Thai. It was good and flavorful. I would order it again in the future. ( 3.5 stars ) Overall, 84 Thai Food is a good choice for Lunch when in the area. Food is fine. Service is fine. Value for Lunch is very good. Cleanliness, could be a lot better. Spotted a pest crawling by the soup container and soup bowls which customers can help themselves to for lunch. Probably would not have eaten here because of that, if we had not been starving. At least, it was not in the food.

    I am a big fan of wonton soup. I have tried tons of wonton soup from different Chinese restaurants and they were horrible. All of the Chinese restaurants use dumpling as wonton soup. Guess what, the best wonton soup I have ever have is from this 84 Thai restaurant. Wonton is real wonton and soup is real soup. I have tried their food 3 times, no complain so far!!!

    Small cozy place at the shopping plaza. THE BEST THAI FOOD IN BROWARD. According to my husband their green curry is the best. And if they state "Thai spicy" they mean it. So be ready for a fire and smoke coming from your ears if you order your food Thai spicy. I usually stay with "mild" level of spiciness and its still burns a bit, but I still enjoy every bite.

    Service was fantastic, the food not so much. Not authentic, didn't taste right, and I'm pretty sure I ended up with food poisoning from this place. Only gave it a 2 thanks to the rapid and efficient service.

    I really was torn between giving this place 2 or 3 stars. Ordered some takeout on a week night as when I called I was told that they don't deliver. We got 2 orders of pad thai and an appetizer of three spring rolls. Right away when we had to pay over $30 I was a bit shocked. "Well," I told myself, "it must be really good to be that expensive!" Upon opening the bag at home, the two main entrees of pad thai are incredibly small. And the spring rolls? They weren't even as long as my index finger. I regret not taking a picture of them to share. $6 for laughably tiny spring rolls that are truly too small to even be considered an appetizer. Overall the food was okay. Thats the problem though, it was JUST okay. I really was hoping for so much better. The staff was incredibly friendly and the inside of the restaurant was very clean and nice. However, for the price of the food compared to the size and the quality, I just can't give it a higher rating. However, I do want to try and give it another shot. I really just want to help to support local businesses, so I am going to wait a while and hopefully have a better updated review!

    My favorite thai place. This place is tucked into a strip mall in a part of town I would not normally go to... Well ever, much less for food. I found this place when I was in town for work and working at the airport and staying at a hotel right next door. I walked over one night and had, to date, the best chicken Massaman I have had. So this place gets visited a few times a year just for the food. It has kinda ruined all the other thai places around Fort Lauderdale.

    If it was 20% cheeper I would give it 5 stars. I think its a bit steep for what you get. I did find the "hot" lever on point from I'd expect from thai....IT was good especially for this part of town

    This place is horrible! Expensive and food tasteless. My daughter can cook better than this! Never coming back again!! Save your money and go to the wendys in Same shopping center!

    We get take out here 2-3 times a week. The staff are very friendly and our order is always ready in 15 minutes. We mix the panang curry and the masaman curry together. Each are great on their own, but together.... Wow. Don't let the plaza scare you. It's safe.

    Tucked away near the Subway and Bicycle shop in the strip mall, you could easily overlook this little wonderland. I know I did when I first moved into the area many years back, and it was only when friends recommended it that I (and my new husband) tried it, and we never looked back. Yes we have tried other Thai restaurants all over Fort Lauderdale but always come back here because of the wonderful food, well developed spices, aromas and all round flavors, not to mention good service. Unfortunately a year or so ago, my doctor told me I had super high cholesterol, and because I didn't want to take medication, I placed myself on a strict vegan diet. It worked wonders, my cholesterol and blood pressure started dropping, and I was very happy with the results. I was very sad that I had to exclude Thai 84/84 Thai but while I was getting healthy, I just had to stay away. So did my husband, because it would have been too tempting, watching him eat while I couldn't. Thank you darling husband. Anyway, all this time later, my cholesterol is down and I can start branching out again a little, while not being crazy. The first stop on my list was 84 Thai - I couldn't WAIT to have another Pad Thai (although I did forego the Thom Ka Gai, which was my all-time favorite soup and something I just HAD to have from there, but at this point, with the coconut milk etc., just something I can't eat again just yet) My husband couldn't wait to have a Penang Chicken (medium with extra sauce) - when I called the restaurant to order take away, to my absolute astonishment, the manager remembered my name AND my husband's name AND not only that - commented that he was glad we were back after such a long absence, and asked if we'd like the usual (he REMEMBERED!!! Pad Thai and Penang Chicken Curry, medium with extra sauce. You could have knocked me over with a feather. HE REMEMBERED! AFTER ALL THIS TIME!) Know the saying " people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."? Well let me tell you, he made me feel like a million dollars, just remembering all these things about one of his many customers from so long ago. Kudos to you. We had ordered the food as takeout, and let me tell you, the portion sizes were very generous, and the food was absolutely outstanding - it was so good, I had to call him to tell him that it was even better than I remembered. Because it was. The curry was spicy but full of flavor, giving that little bit of heat that gets you in the back of your throat in a good way, and my pad thai was wonderful. What a wonderful place, wonderful food, wonderful owner and manager. We will be coming back many, many times. And if you haven't eaten there, then y ou really need to try it - it's better (not as commercial and touristy as many of the other Thai places in town) - it's just wonderful. Unexpected in a little strip mall like this, but just wonderful. YOu won't be sorry.

    I tried 84 Thai for the first time tonight and am very pleased. The Masaman curry is very flavorful, some of the best I've ever had! I ordered medium spice and it the perfect level of heat which I sometimes find lacking at the medium level. All in all very good and I will definitely return!

    This place is small and almost invisible in a off highway strip shopping plaza. Nice food and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and service was good. I had the panang tofu and wasn't disappointed. Nice little place for a quick and tasty Thai bit out!
